Environmental and emotional predictors of cognitive styles of air traffic controllers

The article describes the theoretical and empirical study of cognitive styles air traffic controllers as a guarantee their professional success. aim was to present results study, which were establish emotional predictors future controllers. following methods used for study: “Gottschaldt’s figures”, “Comparison similar drawings” by J. Kagan, “Free sorting objects” R. Gardner in modification V. Kolga, “Four-modal questionnaire” L.A. Rabinovych, “EmIn Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire” D.V Lyusin, “Self-assessment mental states” G. Eisenk. specifics manifestation cognitive-stylistic parameters are analyzed: social field dependence-field independence, impulsivity-reflexivity, analyticity-syntheticity. Based on analysis it found that vast majority respondents have styles: field-independent (77.7%), reflexive (74.4%), slightly less synthetic (53.5%). intelligence at intrapersonal interpersonal levels is characterized high rates only half sample. Among emotions, almost dominated “joy” level, “anger”, “fear” low level “sadness” medium level. It also two thirds anxiety frustration. Regression revealed influence characteristics controllers: “aggression” predictor “field dependence”, “rigidity” analytical style.
